Noted grassland authority, Dr. Robert Freckmann, will lead a prairie walk on land owned by Prairie Sands Chapter members, Fawn and John Shillinglaw, in southwest Waushara County on Saturday, August 9. The Shillinglaws’ conservation easement protects grassland bird habitat and they invite North Central Conservancy Trust (www.ncctwi.org/event.htm) members as well as persons interested in learning about land trusts and prairies to enjoy the prairie and the birds.

Directions to Prairie:
Take I-39 South

Take the WI-21 exit, EXIT 124, east toward COLOMA/NECEDAH. (go 0.3 miles)

Turn LEFT onto WI-21 E/W FOLLETT DR. Continue to follow WI-21 E. (go 4.9 miles)

Turn RIGHT onto CR-B(go 0.8 miles). Look for NCCT sign

Turn LEFT onto CR-JJ (go 4.3 miles). Look for NCCT sign

Just past cemetery, turn RIGHT onto CZECH RD (go about .25 miles) Look for NCCT sign

Shillinglaw property is just past woods, a prairie area on left side of Czech Rd
