Thomas Wet Prairie, Castle Rock Township, Grant Co.  Purchased 1988.
This is the first remnant prairie purchased by The Prairie Enthusiasts. A 13.5 acre wetland prairie with extensive sedges and other wetland plants. It abuts the Fennimore Branch of the Blue River (Castle Rock Creek).
From Montfort on Hwy 18 go W about 2.5 mi to County Hwy G. Turn N (right) on County Hwy G and go about 10 mi. From Muscoda, at the south end of main street (Hwy 80 and 133) (Wisconsin St) take County Hwy G West (which turns S) and go for about 8 miles. Site is on the West side just south of the junction with Neff Rd. There is an old red brick schoolhouse across the road. (map)

3 acre dry-mesic prairie with many species including Compass-Plant, Rough Blazing-star and  Downy Phlox.
From Fennimore on Hwy. 18, go W about 6mi. to Mt. Ida. Go S (left) on County Hwy K about 6 mi. Turn W (right) on Badger Rd. Site is on the East side (right) just after the road turns sharply right. Or from Lancaster go 3 miles N on County Hwy K. (map)

45 acres located on a low ridge with a dry-mesic quality and somewhat sandy soil. About 2/3 of the site faces south and the remaining 1/3 north. The site has over 55 species including such
From Fennimore on Hwy 18, go south on Hwy 61 to Hwy 129 (Lancaster Hwy 61 bypass) take Lincoln Rd east. Site is on the north just before Graney Rd. Or from Platteville go NW on Hwy 129. (map)

Sime Balds, Boscobel, Grant Co. Easement granted 2004.
35 acres of goat prairie and oak woodland. It includes 3 balds- steep, rocky bluff prairies on sandstone and some limestone. More than 80 native plant species featuring Upland Boneset, Great Plains Lady's Tresses, Butterfly Milkweed, Prairie Indian Plantain, Prairie Dropseed and large areas of oak barrens and bur and white oak savanna. It also hosts a variety of native snakes.
From Boscobel go E on County Hwy MS about 1.5 miles. The site is northwest of the triangular intersection of County Hwys S and M with MS. (map)
