Work Parties include winter brush cutting, summer and fall seed collecting, cleaning and preparing seeds, planting, mowing, invasive species control, and prescribed burning. Work parties are organized by chapters and notified through email, phone, or by word of mouth. They may occur once a week or once a month depending on need, participants, and energy. Spring burns are very popular, and TPE usually requires some preliminary training before our volunteers help set fire to land. Work parties are a great chance to learn much of what is required for restoring prairie and savanna.
Work Parties are coordinated by chapters. See chapter webpages for more details and the chapter contact person. Some chapters post workdays on our calendar (select a specific chapter in the category option at the bottom of the calendar).
