Evanne is a technical communication professional concentrating in technical writing for computer software applications.

Jack Kussmaul, Vice President

Jack is a lawyer in Lancaster, Wisconsin, when he is not working on natural restoration on his own property.

"I am awed by TPE's ability to acquire properties worthy of protection. I just wish we were as good at collecting endowments to support these properties!"

Nick is a farmer.

Clarence Malick, Secretary

"Buck", is a retired engineer (MIT '64) and estate lawyer (Harvard '71) from Hudson. His interest in prairie was "fired" as he promoted the Western Prairie Habitat Restoration Area. He enjoys nature, including hunting and fishing. He volunteers for numerous nonprofits, including the St. Croix River Association, and has served on the county board for decades.

Gary is a one of the founding members of TPE.

 

Brad Glass

Brad Glass

Brad is a graduate of Princeton 1953 and Michigan Law School 1959. Brad practiced law in Chicago and Northbrook, IL beginning in 1959: and in Dodgeville, WI beginning in 1986. He retired in 2004.

Brad served in the Illinois Legislature as State Representative (1971-1972) and State Senator (1973-1978). He and his wife operated Little Valley Farm, a native plant nursery on their property in the Town of Wyoming, Iowa County, WI.

Brad served as one of the organizers and as a board member of the Driftless Area Land Conservancy headquartered in Dodgeville, WI. He was a member of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board for 6 years and he is a current member of the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission

Richard Henderson

Richard Henderson

Rich represents the Empire Sauk chapter. He is an ecologist with the Wisconsin of Natural Resources Bureau of Integrated Science Services (formerly Research). Rich has 33 years of experience in natural area inventory, assessment and management of prairie, sedge meadow, oak savannah and oak woodland ecosystems.

Rich is a past president of TPE and an originator of the Military Ridge Prairie Heritage Area, which includes more than 50,000 acres of grasslands in Dane and Iowa counties in southwest Wisconsin. Henderson also has served as the leader and motivator of several projects for The Nature Conservancy, namely the prairie preserves known as Spring Green, Schluckebier, and Black Earth Rettenmund.

 

William Hogseth

Bill Hogseth

Bill represents the Chippewa Savannas chapter. He is a conservation biologist/wildlife technician with the Wisconsin DNR. He was formerly the Stewardship Manager of West Wisconsin Land Trust. He holds a degree in ecological restoration from Northland College in Ashland, WI. Bill is a fifth-generation native of the Chippewa Valley and is passionate about the lands surrounding the Lower Chippewa River. He is an avid long-distance hiker, plant geek, bicyclist, home brewer, and reader. Bill lives with his wife, Crystal, near Downsville, WI.

"I believe in TPE because it fosters a land ethic within individuals by getting them involved in the hard work, fun camaraderie, and subtle art of land stewardship, making them feel personally connected to the recovery of these great places."

Paul Rode

Paul Rode

Paul represents the Northwest Illinois chapter.

 

James Rogala

James Rogala

Jim represents the Coulee Region chapter. Professionally, he is an aquatic scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey in La Crosse, WI. Jim's interest in prairies grew out of the discovery of small remnants on his woodland property. During his efforts to learn more about prairies, he found TPE to be a collection of knowledgable, hardworking, and caring folks that share the same passion for prairie preservation.

Linda represents the Southwest Wisconsin chapter.

 

Ann Woldt

Ann represents the Prairie Sands chapter.

"I have always felt a spiritual connection to the natural environment, and was thrilled to discover remnant prairie on our 15 acres of land in Waushara County. While I cannot walk our land, I can observe from our house, and revel in the fox, deer, butterflies, and all the other creatures that inhabit it. I value the work that The Prairie Enthusiasts engage in, and am honored to be among their members."

Dani Stolley

Dani Stolley

Dani is the TPE Development Director. A life-long resident of Oshkosh, Wis., she has made the preservation, conservation and restoration of her local bioregion a personal and career priority for almost 20 years. Dani was the first graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Oshkosh’s Environmental Studies Program (1997). She is currently working with the City of Oshkosh to develop the city’s first community sustainability plan while at the same time pursuing a master’s degree in environmental studies from Green Mountain College.

"My goals and interests have always focused on the natural world and I can think of nothing more fulfilling, over the course of my life, than forging meaningful, rewarding and mutually beneficial relationships between the people of the Upper Midwest and the land where they live, work and play."

Carol Winge

Carol Winge

Carol is the TPE Business Manager. She is also the bookkeeper for Trinity Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, WI. Carol was the executive director for the Cambridge Historic Museum and has over 30 years of experience working for nonprofit, environmental organizations. She is also a member of the Trinity Recorder Consort, a professional recorder group.

"I have worked for several environmental organizations but never one with members as dedicated to the mission as our members. I thank my lucky stars every day that I am a part of this organization that has such a positive impact on our ecosystem."

Victoria is the TPE Membership Coordinator.
