Events & Programs
Each year, members from all across the organization gather together for some very special events. Chapters offer field trips, work parties, workshops or other events specific to that chapter’s focus and interests. View events on the TPE calendar or seek information on events from your local chapter. Join us in connecting with each other and the land as we care for prairies and savannas.onfer
TPE Annual Conference and Banquet The conference and banquet are held on a Saturday in February or March, and rotates among chapters. The conference includes presentations on prairie-related topics, and often features roundtable discussions. Details for this year's event are made available on the conference webpage (click here).
TPE Annual Picnic Each July, a chapter hosts our all-TPE Annual Picnic. This outdoor event features field trips to a few of the host chapter’s treasured prairies and savannas and a meeting of the membership, a potluck lunch and, of course, great company. The picnic is usually on the third Sunday of July. Details for this year's picnic are made available on the picnic webpage (click here).
Field Trips Field trips are open to members and non-members alike. They are led by volunteer naturalists to sites we want to showcase or sites we would like to learn more about. Learn from the trip leader, each other and the land as we explore a rich variety of sites together. Please call the trip leader to confirm details, as the weather can be factor.
Work Parties Work parties are held through all the seasons, as volunteers come together to engage in the hands on work of restoring natural communities to health. The activity of the day depends on the season and the needs of each site. For those of us who connect to the natural world by direct action, work parties are a great opportunity to cut, pull, plant, tend and sweat over a piece of prairie.
Annual TPE Photo Contest The winner of the TPE Annual Photo Contest is selected by an Annual Conference attendee ballot and announced at the evening banquet. Details are included on the conference webpage.
