Protect your land
One of the most important ways that TPE fulfills its mission is by working with landowners to protect their land in perpetuity. There are many ways this can be accomplished. TPE may purchase the land or accept a donation of land. Another means of protection is to establish a conservation easement. This establishes use restrictions to maintain the conservation values of the land, which are attached to the title, while the landowner still owns the property. There are also ways to set these options through estate planning such as designating TPE in your will or trust, or setting up a life estate which gifts your property while you still use it for the remainder of your lifetime.
The best way to get started is to contact Chris Kirkpatrick, TPE Executive Director at 608-638-1873 or email. We can discuss what your interests are, and begin to find the best way to help you conserve your property in the best way for both you, your family, and the land.
