Double Oaks Savanna Work Party, 10-19-2019

The Southwest Chapter regular monthly work party will take place at Double Oak Savanna on County Road C in the Town of Millville, Saturday, October 19, beginning at 9:00 am, or whenever you can be there.
We will probably be cutting sumac, so please bring loppers and chain saws.
If you have questions or need directions, you may contact Jack Kussmaul at 608-988-4309 or at [email protected]

We hope we will see you there. It is a beautiful time of year to be out in the woods.

Double Oaks Savanna was gifted to The Prairie Enthusiasts by Alice and Walter Mirk in 2012. Managed by the Southwest Chapter, the 23 acres contains remnant and restored prairie, oak savanna and oak woodland. The rugged terrain is home to a number of rare species including Purple Milkweed, Prairie Indian Plantain, Jeweled Shooting Star, Pickerel Frog and Prairie Ring-Necked Snake.
