The Minnesota Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts has been partnering with the City of Rochester to help restore an oak savanna at a neighborhood park in Rochester. A group of TPE volunteers helped at the park in September (read more about that work here). However, there's still more to do before the snow falls! We need volunteers to help haul cut buckthorn into additional burn piles, and also to cut and treat existing stands of buckthorn to make way for further restoration work.
What to Bring: Your own water, snacks, gloves, and sunscreen. Due to COVID-19, masks will be required. Hand tools including shovels, pruners, loppers, hand saws, etc. will be provided by the City and will be sanitized both before and after each use. We will also maintain social distancing (6’) to keep folks safe.
Please contact Angela Smith ([email protected]) to RSVP or ask any questions.
Thank you and we hope to see you there!
